Natural Spider Wood and is free of chemicals. The wood has not been boiled or pre-soaked. It is safe for all pets such as Shrimp, Fish, Hermit Crabs, Baby Fish, Snakes, Spiders and Reptiles. This piece of Spider Wood is approximately 4 inches high X 6 inch span L-R. The Spider Wood is not mounted to any permanent base; its sits on its own. It is a perfect decoration as well as an ideal choice for reptiles to climb on, adding natural beauty to your aquarium or terrarium.
Spider Wood can slightly lower PH and release some tannin’s, but it’s generally low-risk as an addition to your aquascape or terrarium. The wood is acquired from the root section of various species within the genus Rhododendron.
Slight color variances in the plant are possible by lighting type. Wood should not be placed directly under a heat lamp and or near heat source.

We prefer to let the individual decide whether or not to boil. Over boiling can damage the wood internally. Each piece and type of wood respond differently to being boiled so there’s no definitive answer that we are aware of. Many also recommend boiling your wood for anywhere between 15-30 minutes before placing it in the enclosure
